Durga puja is a popular festival in the north east part of India, Odisha and Bihar, a celebration of the victory of Goddess Durga over Mahishasura. It is also a festival season in South Asia which also worships goddess Durga. The Durga puja is a six day celebrations fron the fifth day culminating in Vijayadasami.

Durga Puja commemmorates the victory of Goddess Durga over the evil demon Mahishasura, with the head of a buffalo. Essentially, Durga Puja marks the victory of Good over Evil.
