Kaal Sarpa as the name imply consist of two words-Kaal (death) and Sarpa (snake). In Astrology Rahu is considered as Dragon Head or Snake head and ketu as Dragon tail. Thus Kaal sarpa dosha is believed to form in a chart when this serpentine axis entangles itself around other planets and hence constrict and disrupt the planetary radiations. In other words when all seven planets are hemmed in Rahu-Ketu axis in their natural motion direction Kaal Sarpa dosha is formed. This dosha is often associated with troubles and posing death like situations for native.
Kala Sarpa Dosham
When a baby is born when the position of the all the other planets fall between Rahu and Kethu, then the baby is deemed to fall under the influence of Kala Sarpa Dosham.
Generally, when a person has this Kala Sarpa dosham, may not enjoy the joys of life till he is 32 years old. If there are no good yogams in the horoscope, then the person may be influenced by bad habits and even become an outcast in society.
Parigaram for Kala Sarpa dosham
The parigaram for Kala Sarpa dosham has to be done on the nakshatras of Rahu such as Thiruvathirai, Swathi and Sathayam or on the janma nakshatra of the person. One can visit Thirunageswaram on these days and perform milk abhishekam for Rahu and offer prayers, to get relief from Kala Sarpa dosham. Kalahasti and Rameswaram are other holy places one can visit for relief.

Chanting of the Maha Mrutyunjaya mantra every day
On the day of Amavasai, go to a flowing water body (a river, for example), with three coconuts and some charcoal pieces. Throw the coconuts into the water one after another, followed by the charcoal pieces. Once done, come back home without looking back, to get relief from Kala Sarpa dosham.
Take a bath immediately after reaching home.
Throw a handful of rock salt into the water bucket. Pour this water on your head everyday. Once done, you can continue your regular bath. This will provide relief from sarpa dosham.
