Choghadiya: a perfect period

India culture and tradition is not only followed by the Indians but it is also followed by the foreigners. They believe in our culture as our culture has traditional effects. But most lively are Gujarati well what to say about Gujarat its culture, art, literature, and not to forget about the cuisine of the Gujarati. Gujarati people are lively and at the same time, and they all believe in the astrology. So, they mostly follow the Gujarati Choghadiya. People of Gujarat do their work according to Gujarati Choghadiya, the period during the day which could be lucky or unlucky for us is predicted. It mainly tells you about the traveling period.

Gujarati Choghadiya:

It is simply a kind of calendar where you get the perfect period of when to start the work, at what time special events should be held. It is very famous and yet simple to understand. In Gujarat traditionally Choghadiya is used for travelling period but due to its easiness, this is used for any special muhurtha. Choghadiya are mainly 16 types. In which 8 Choghadiya are followed by the day period and rest 8 Choghadiya are followed in the night period. One Choghadiya is equal to 24 minutes so 4 Choghadiya is almost 1 hour and 30 minutes.

How to calculate Gujarati Choghadiya

It is different for each day. For the day period Choghadiya or Gujarati Choghadiya the periods between morning and evening time is divided by 8.This shows the estimate of approx 90 minutes. So when added with morning time we get our first daytime choghadiya like morning time is 07:00 am totaling 90 minutes arises to 08:30 .So first day time Choghadiya jumps from 07:00 am and ends 08:30am.So it is same for the night Choghadiya. So when you are looking in set day time Choghadiya you see on the first week day i.e.Monday is the first Choghadiya that is Amrit and next Choghadiya that is Kaal. So the first one is the amrit which is the fortunate one and second one is Kaal so it not considered to the fortunate one.

Types of Gujarati Choghadiya are:

  • Amrit (it is Studied to be the greatest Choghadiya) Shubh, Labh and Char (it is studied to be the good Choghadiya) are fortunate Choghadiya.
  • Rog, Kaal and udveg are the unfortunate Choghadiya.
  • Day Choghadiya: is the period between the morning and evening.
  • Night Choghadiya: is the period between evening and the later day morning.

Unfortunate Day according to Gujarati Choghadiya:

It is believe in the Gujarati Choghadiya that no good work should be done by the period.

  • Vaar Vela: It is the time of day. Whereas, Kaal Vela is also prevail in the day time.
  • Kaal ratri: it is believed that all sort of subh work should not be done by that time. As this period is not good period.
