Ketu is a nodal planet. Ketu does not own any zodiac sign. Ketu is also called a dragon tail. Ketu pooja is dedicated to please the planet khetu. In Vedic astrology, the south node of the moon is called khetu. It is also known as a shadow planet, because of the nodes relation with the phenomenon of eclipse. According to the Hindu mythology, it is to be believed that Lord Ketu has a head of snake and the body of demon (asura). The temperament and nature of ketu is fiery. Ketu is also known as a planet of spirituality.

The best time to perform ketu pooja is during Rahu kalam and you can also perform this pooja on Wednesday and Sunday during morning. Devotee should plan accordingly so, that he or she will be available for pooja during Rahu kalam.

Procedure Rich need to be followed during Ketu pooja

  • A day before pooja one should sleep on floor. It is not mandatory that you will sleep on floor, if you have problem you can skip this procedure.
  • Next day after taking bath plan to reach temple little early and perform abhishekam with milk (1 liter) to the deity. After doing this you should do three pradakshinam to the idols.
  • After Abhishekam, you need to perform Rahu Ketu kala sarpa dosh pooja.
  • After pooja donate some food to poor.
  • There are some other procedures which you also need to keep in mind while performing this pooja like
  • You need to perform this pooja in the north-west direction.
  • Ketu loves red Lilly flower so if you are able to arrange this flower it is good for you.
  • The day you perform the ketu pooja, you can only take rice mixed with khollu. It’s good for you to wear red color clothing.
