Tithi: Tithi is the first attribute of the Mauritius Panchang. Tithi signifies lunar phase and is used to measure the separation between the sun and the moon. Tithi provides you with the daily phase of the moon. There are total of 14 tithis between a new moon and a full moon. The first Tithi is the moon phase which begins just after the amavasya. The first Tithi is followed by second Tithi and then third Tithi and goes on until 14th Tithi which is a full moon poornima. After the full moon pornima begins the first Tithi followed by second Tithi then third Tithi till amavasya. This cycle goes on and on for the whole year. A Tithi last for 0.95 part that of a full solar day.

Vara: In Hindu Tradition, days are called as Vaar. The significance of each day and why it is called so is described in the Mauritius Panchang. It is said that seven days of the week represents the rule of seven planets in your life. Sunday is named as Ravi-Vaar which means day of Sun. Monday is named as Soma-Vaar which means day of the Moon. Tuesday is named as Mangal-Vaar which is the day of planet Mars. Wednesday is named as Buddha-Vaar which is named as day of planet Mercury. Thursday is named as Guru-Vaar which means the day of Planet Jupiter. Friday is named as Shukra-Vaar which means the day of planet Venus. Saturday is named as Shani-Vaar which is the day of Planet Saturn. Shadow planets Rahu and Ketu are associated with Tuesday and Saturday.

Nakshtra: There are 27 Nakshatra in total which comprises of 360 degree of the entire sky. The path of the moon is decided by these 27 Nakshatra each of these Nakshatra has their own name and position. The position of the moon is also indicated by these Nakshatra and you can get to know all about them in the Mauritius Panchang.

Yoga: Yoga is the angle of the sun with respect to the moon which is used to determine auspiciousness of the day. There are 27 yoga from one sunrise to another sunrise which is 24 hours.

Karana: Karana is half of a Tithi. Two Karana comprises of one Tithi. To know the detail, you can refer to Mauritius Panchang.
