Panchang – an important thing in the hindu mythology
In Hindu mythology, north Indian panchang has a special significance; north indian panchang is basically a calendar. North Indian panchang is made by an astrologer by performing the Vedic astrological calculations. North Indian panchang contains the important events of the Hindu society as well as time of muhurta (which is known as a good or bad time).
North Indian panchang is very important in order to run the Hindu society as per the Vedic rules. You get each every information in the panchang. north Indian panchang can be use to see the time of shubh muhurat which is according to the Hindu mythology is an appropriate time in which every auspicious work has to be done and it also give the time rahu kaal in which you are not allowed or advised to do any auspicious work.
North Indian panchang is also used to find out the tithi according to which every hindu festival has been celebrated and scheduled.
Significance of north Indian panchang
Panchang is made by the two Sanskrit words first is panch which means five and second is ang which means part, if you combine the both you will get the word five parts. This is because panchang is made from the five parts and that parts are such as –
Tithi – it is the most important factor of the panchang, there is no astrologer who announces the date of any auspicious event without looking the panchang. Tithi is known as when the moon completes its movement which is 12 degree around the sun. Hindu tithis can be classified into five categories such as –
- Nanda tithi – this tithi brings joy and happiness.
- Bhadra tithi- if you are going to start any new work then this tithi suits you best.
- Jaya tithi – this tithi is the significance of win over the enemies.
- Rikta tithi – this tithi is not appropriate if you going to do any important work, you should skip the task in this tithi.
- Poorna tithi- this tithi is considered as the appropriate tithi among the all. In this tithi you can perform any kind work.
Vaar – vaar is also called a week day. This is used to know the exact time difference of one sunrise and next. There are 7 vaar in a whole week which is known as somvaar, mangalvaar, budhvaar, brahaspativaar, shukravaar, shanivaar and ravivaar.
In Hindu mythology it is considered that mangal and shanivaar is not appropriate to do any important work. While ravivaar is considered as lucky to do any work.
Nakshtra – Nakshtra means area of sky. There are total 27 nakshatra according to Vedic astrology and each and every nakshatra has 13 degree and 20 minutes of zodiac.
Yoga – yoga is known as planetary relationship. In Vedic astrology there are 27 types of yoga. These 27 yoga can be proved to be lucky as well as unlucky, calculation unlucky or luycky yoga has been done by the position of the sun and the moon.
Karana – it is known as half tithi. There are 11 Karana from which 4 are at stationary position while othr 7 are in revolving position.
