Address : Sri Vaikundam
Contact Time : 0700:2000

This is Suryan Stalam. There are no separate shrines for the Navagrahas (9 planets) in these temples as the presiding deity is a graha (planet) himself in the respective temples. The presiding deity of the temple is Sri Vijayaasana perumal in a sitting posture with Adiseshan over his head like an umbrella like in Srivaikundam temple. About the origin of this temple, the story goes thus. A poor brahmin by name Vedavith, who lived in Punyagosham Agraharam on the bank of river Rewa, after discharging all the legitimate duties expected of him to his mother, father and guru, wanted to do penance for getting the darshan of Thirumal ( Maha Vishnu). The Lord, who knew this, took the form of an old brahmin, came to Vedavith
